Import & export prompts

You can move prompt libraries in and out of Pranas via CSV. This is useful for bulk-editing in a spreadsheet, sharing prompt sets across brands, archiving a snapshot before a major regeneration, or migrating from another GEO tool.

Exporting

On the Prompt Management page, click Export → CSV. The file includes:

prompt_text — the full natural-language prompt
prompt_type — Unaided, Aided, Comparison, Problem-Solving, or Feature
keyword — the extracted primary keyword
search_volume — monthly volume (or blank if Unknown)
volume_tier — High / Medium / Low / Very Low / Unknown
is_active — whether the prompt is included in scans
category — optional grouping label
created_at — ISO timestamp

The export reflects your current filter state, so you can export just one prompt type or one volume tier by filtering first.

Import limits

Importing

Click Import → Upload CSV. The minimum required column is prompt_text; everything else is optional and will be filled in automatically:

Missing prompt_type → auto-classified by AI
Missing keyword → auto-extracted
Missing search_volume → fetched from our search-volume database

Import rules

Deduplication is enforced. If a prompt with the same normalised text already exists for the brand, the row is skipped (not overwritten). Edit existing prompts in the UI rather than re-importing.
[brand] placeholders are auto-substituted with your canonical brand name on import.
URLs are stripped to prevent biased branded responses.
Maximum 500 prompts per import to keep the post-processing fast.

Bulk edit in Excel

Export your library
Edit prompt_text or toggle is_active in Excel/Sheets
Delete the rows you didn't change to keep the file small
Re-import — only changes are processed

Share a library across brands

Export from Brand A
Find-and-replace Brand A's name with [brand] in the CSV
Import into Brand B — placeholders are substituted automatically

Archive before regeneration

Always export before running Generate Prompts → Replace existing so you have a rollback point.

Limits and quotas

Imports do not consume scan credits. Auto-classification and volume lookups use a small pool of operational credits included with every plan.
Free plan: 1 import per brand per day. Paid plans: unlimited.
