Topic Visibility
Topic Visibility groups your prompts into themes and shows your performance per theme. Where SOV and AI Score collapse everything into one number, Topic Visibility lets you see that you're winning on "AI brand monitoring" but invisible on "GEO audit" — two very different remediation plans.
How topics are formed
When prompts are auto-generated or imported, each one is tagged with a topic based on its primary keyword and intent. Examples for a GEO platform:
- AI brand monitoring
- Citation tracking
- Competitor analysis
- Prompt management
- Reporting & analytics
You can rename, merge, or split topics on the Prompt Management page. Topics are per-brand, so two brands can have completely different topic taxonomies.
What the widget shows
For each topic the panel displays:
- Your visibility within that topic (% of queries in which you appear)
- Top competitor within that topic
- Query count — how many prompts feed this topic (small counts are flagged as low-confidence)
- Trend arrow — direction over the active date range
Reading the matrix
A useful mental model:
| High your visibility | Low your visibility | |
|---|---|---|
| High volume | Defend (protect your moat) | Attack (highest ROI gap) |
| Low volume | Maintain (low effort) | Ignore for now |
The Attack quadrant is where your next content brief should come from.
Common pitfalls
- Tiny topics (1–3 prompts) are noisy. Either add more prompts to the topic or merge it with a related one.
- Overlapping topics dilute the signal. If "citation tracking" and "citation monitoring" exist as separate topics, merge them.
- Aided prompts inside a topic inflate visibility. Filter to Unaided for an honest view.
